Governor Newsom's Housing Initiatives:

In September 2024, Governor Newsom signed a bipartisan housing package that builds upon California's existing strategies to combat homelessness and housing shortages. This comprehensive plan includes the launch of Prop 1 Homekey+, offering permanent supportive housing solutions for veterans and those in need across various communities.

Homekey Grant Overview:

Funding allocations have been announced for projects across nine states, totaling the creation of 533 permanent supportive homes, a testament to our commitment to addressing housing insecurity.

San Francisco Housing Policy Update:

New Cities Designation for Affordable Housing:

As of September 2024, the Kern County community of McFarland celebrated the opening of Sherwood Family Apartments. This new housing development provides 80 affordable homes specifically for low-income and extremely low-income families.
